Le Tertre is situated in the heart of the Poitou Charentes – the second sunniest region in France. The area is very rural but is scattered with interesting villages, towns and cities to provide something of interest for everyone.

Our comfortable cottages are ideal for a peaceful and relaxing break and as a base for exploring the areas many attractions. They are set within our own 10 acres with superb river/valley views - in fact, Le Tertre translates as ‘hilltop’. Each of our cottages has it’s own outside sitting and dining area which is ideal to enjoy al fresco dining, a glass of wine, morning coffee, afternoon tea – the choice is yours.

Our cottages can be enjoyed during Spring, Summer and Autumn with lots to see and do all year round. For the summer months, we offer a superb 12m x 6m pool with large sun terrace and loungers – again with wonderful views.

Le Tertre was formerly the farm for the local chateau which is a short stroll down the lanes. It is also within walking distance of the village of Montjean which boasts a bar/restaurant and a bakery – ideal for early morning croissants! The nearest towns are Ruffec (8 kilometres) and Sauze Vaussais (5 kilometres). Both towns have a range of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and markets.

We can offer access to lower priced ferry fares and assistance with house hunting in the area.
