Gîtes at le Tertre

Our cottages have been carefully renovated to offer modern day comforts and conveniences without losing any of the charm of the buildings. There are a wealth of original features including exposed stone and beams. The properties are built of local honey coloured stone with terracotta roof tiles.

Each cottage has an outdoor sitting area with table and chairs – ideal for relaxing, reading, wining and dining. All our cottages and well equipped with good kitchen facilities including full sized ovens. There is a shared laundry room for the cottages (except La Ferme which has it’s own washing machine). Our cottages have standard beds for the sleeping capacity stated ie not bunk beds or sofa beds. Each cottage could accommodate a cot for a baby in addition to the sleeping capacity detailed below. Cots, play pens, infant baths, stair gates and high chairs are available on request at no extra charge.

Each gite contains an information pack on the region to ensure you can get the most out of your stay together with CD/Radio/Tape player, a selection of English and French books/magazines and board games.

Bed linen, tea towels and shower mats are included in our prices but you need to bring your own personal towels with you.


		La Ferme - Sleeps Up To 8 in 3 Bedrooms La Ferme – a genuine traditional Charentaise farmhouse – is our largest sized accommodation. Sleeping 8 comfortably, it is ideal for people looking for a holiday home with exceptional space and is suitable for 2 families holidaying together. • Large farmhouse kitchen and dining room. Large fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, full sized oven as well as a microwave. Table to seat 8 people. This leads to an individual outside sitting area under the shade of a mature lime tree with table and chairs Separate comfortable lounge with a television and access to a large deck with great river/valley views – again with table and chairs 3 spacious bedrooms – 2 double bedrooms and one with 4 single beds Large bathroom and toilet with separate shower cubicle Plus a separate wc/shower room

One of the great attractions of Le Tertre, and one of the reasons why it is so consistently popular with holidaymakers, is it’s location within 10 acres of land with stunning views. The perfect spot for you to relax and unwind. . Our outdoor facilities include: The big swimming pool which is open from end of May to the end of September. (All children using the pool must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times). A wonderful large sun terrace by the pool with loungers to while away hours soaking up the sun, enjoying the views or reading a book 2 excellent barbecue areas A large playing field away from the gites where children can play football, fly kites and have fun without disturbing people enjoying quieter moments! Petanque court American horse shoe pitch Picnic areas Cut pathways through pastureland with wild flowers giving access to the river Table tennis Car parking under cover Tennis courts are a short walk away at Montjean and are available for hire at a nominal cost. Our cottages are well established and registered. Our swimming pool has an alarm conforming to French safety regulations and the quality of the pool water is monitored by health department in the region. We have public liability insurance for our cottages, pool and land.
